«New Report shows almost one-quarter of cell phone users would file a police report on their mobile phones»
February 15, 2006 - STATELINE, Nevada - After a 3 month long research and personal one-on-one serveying by researchers from The Elkan Group, LLC, "we now have the answers we were looking for", says Samuel Anderson, Managing Partner for Tekbrokers VENTURES, LLC.
The research conducted by The Elkan Group was simple. They had stopped and asked everyone they ran into a simple question. In today's technology environment if something happened to you that needed to be reported to the police and you could do it with your mobile phone, would you do it? The answers came back at an astonishing 26.7% YES. The remaining answers vary according to those that don't have a mobile device and those that still prefer to use tranditional methods or even report via online (PC).
"This is over one-quarter percent of everyone asked", says Samuel Anderson. "This is tremendous for us because more users of cell phones are turning to their mobile devices exclusively."
According to a Harris Interactive survey of 1,125 adults in the United States, 9 percent have disconnected their traditional phones, 5 percent plan to do so in the next year and an additional 47 percent are considering making the jump.
"This means that there is going to have to be something in place for these citizens to take advantage of and it can't be stopped", says Anderson. "This is why we have taken this survey and built our new system around our enterprise platform that will allow us to give our clients (Law Enforcement) the capability to accept police reports from citizens via their mobile devices."
BobCOP offers this service to all qualified law enforcement entities nationwide and now has a U.S. Patent Pending on their Police Mobile Reporting System.
